Africa 7: Bad news for Ahmed Aidara and Co.

The verdict has been reached in the case of Africa 7 v Solo Media and the co-owners of the licence to operate the channel, in this case Ms Oumou Wane and Moussa Faye. Indeed, the judge des référés has ordered, this Monday, the immediate cessation of all exploitation of the licence Africa7TV-Radio-90.7Fm on any platform whatsoever, to the exclusive benefit of the real owners. This decision is accompanied by a penalty of 500 000 CFA francs per day of delay. It should be recalled that since September 2025, Solo Media has been illegally exploiting the licence of Africa 7, en toute connaissance de cause, while the legitimate owners remain Mme Oumou Wane et Moussa Faye. The latter, having acquired before a notary the 49% of the shares of M. Aliou Ndiaye in the company Africa Sarl, had approached the judge des référés in order to put an end to this exploitation deemed illegal, after having questioned in vain the CNRA, which had, according to our information, chosen to keep silent in this dossier à forte médiatisation. Ahmed Aïdara, El Hadji Mansour Diop, Fatou Abdou Ndiaye and Birahim Touré are now obliged to comply with the court’s decision, under penalty of heavy financial sanctions fixed at 500 000 CFA francs per day of broadcasting from this Monday. It remains to be seen whether Amadou Ndiaye and his associates will comply with the tribunal’s decision or whether they will try to go beyond it. Affaire to follow…
