Again, troops neutralize one terrorist in Kogi, recover armsĀ 

Troops of 12 Brigade have neutralised one suspected terrorist and recovered arms and logistics during an ambush operation in Owara community, Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.

This was made known in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert in the Lake Chad region.

Makama stated that the operation was carried out at about 5:00 p.m. on March 24 following credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorists into the area.

According to the source, the troops, under a blocking force deployment, laid ambush along a suspected withdrawal route and engaged the fleeing suspects.

ā€œThe terrorists were forced to retreat in disarray following the troops’ superior firepower,ā€ the source said.

It added that exploitation of the area led to the discovery of the body of one neutralised suspect.

ā€œItems recovered from the scene include two AK-47 magazines loaded with 10 and two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, as well as two motorcycles and other sundry items.

ā€œResidents have been urged to continue to support security agencies with timely and credible information,ā€ he said.

DAILY POST had reported that troops had neutralized a suspected terrorist during a fighting patrol at Odoape–Adankolo Forest in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of the state.
