Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has joined Birmingham City in the Sky Bet Championship. The versatile full-back signed on a free transfer after departing from Turkish Super Lig team Fenerbahce last month. Osayi-Samuel has secured a three-year contract with the club. Additionally, there is a related update: A deal has been finalized with another Super Eagles defender moving to Moroccan club Magreb Fes. The 27-year-old was poised to transfer to another Turkish club, Besiktas, but discussions fell apart due to disagreements over extra bonuses. He is familiar with English football, having developed in the youth system at Blackpool and later moving to QPR in the Championship in 2017, where he made over 100 appearances at Loftus Road. He will now join his new teammates for the men’s first team’s pre-season training camp in Portugal. Osayi-Samuel has earned 22 caps for Nigeria and was part of the Super Eagles squad that finished as runners-up in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
