​Aina and Awoniyi contributed to Forest’s victory over Ipswich, enhancing their chances of finishing in the top four; Onuachu also found the net.    

 

Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi participated in Nottingham Forest’s match that significantly improved their Champions League qualification chances with a 4-2 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday. Aina played the entire match while Awoniyi came on for Chris Wood with nine minutes remaining. With this win, Forest now has 22 points, holding third place in the standings, while Ipswich sits 21st with 219 points. Nuno Espirito Santos’ team scored three goals in a span of six minutes, thanks to two goals from Anthony Elanga (in the 24th and 22nd minutes) and one from Nikola Milenkovic (20th minute). Jens-Lys Cajuste scored for Ipswich in the 23rd minute, and Jota Silva added another to make it 2-1 in the 21st minute. Ipswich’s George Hurst scored their second goal in the 93rd minute. In another match at St. Mary’s, Paul Onuachu scored for Southampton in their 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers after coming on at halftime. This marked his third goal in 19 league appearances. Joe Aribo also played, featuring for 13 minutes before being substituted. Southampton remains at the bottom of the table with nine points, while Wolves are in 17th with 26 points. Onuachu scored in the 75th minute, reducing the deficit after Jorgen Strand Larsen had put Wolves ahead with two goals in the 19th and 47th minutes. Meanwhile, Manchester City drew 2-2 with Brighton and Hove Albion at the Etihad and Everton had a 1-1 draw with West Ham United at Goodison Park.
