According to Completesports, four players from Nigeria’s Super Falcons—Rasheedat Ajibade, Esther Okoronkwo, Michelle Alozie, and Chiamaka Nnadozie—have been selected for the Best XI in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The quartet received accolades for their outstanding performance in the tournament. The list published by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Monday was put together by the technical study group of the competition. Goalkeeper Nnadozie achieved four clean sheets throughout the tournament and was named the best goalkeeper for Morocco 2024. Houston Dash defender Alozie was honored as the best right-back, having played five matches for the Super Falcons in Morocco. Additionally, the Super Falcons are set to hold a trophy parade in Abuja on Monday. Okoronkwo was instrumental in Nigeria’s success in the tournament, scoring two goals and assisting six times in just six games. The AFC Toronto forward also earned two Woman of the Match titles. Captain Ajibade set the pace for the team, scoring once and providing two assists, while also claiming three Woman of the Match awards and being named the Tournament’s Most Valuable Player. South Africa’s Banyana Banyana had three representatives: Karabo Dlamini, Bambanani Mbane, and Reflloe Jane.
