Kenny Okolugbo, Consultant on Communications and Strategy to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has resigned from his position.
Okolugbo formally communicated his decision in a resignation letter dated December 22, 2025, addressed to the President of the Senate through his Chief of Staff, Chinedu Akubueze. He attributed his decision to “business and family commitments”.
In the letter, Okolugbo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve at the highest level of Nigeria’s legislative arm and for the chance to work closely with the leadership of the National Assembly.
“I have enjoyed working with the team. I should also point out the privilege of being an adviser to the number three citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.
Looking back on his time in office, he noted that he was pleased to have been part of the media office of the former Akwa Ibom State governor.
“I am grateful for the opportunity I had to serve and wish the best to the President of the Senate as he continues to steer the affairs of the National Assembly and the Senate in particular,” he added.
The resignation is to take effect from January 1, 2026.
Confirming the development, Akubueze disclosed that Akpabio has accepted Okolugbo’s resignation, praising his contributions and wishing him success in his future endeavours.
