America bound by duty to defend Christians everywhere – Riley Moore

US Congressman, Rep. Riley Moore, says the United States of America has a unique duty to defend Christians wherever they are being persecuted around the world.

Moore made this statement on Thursday at the United States Commission International Religious Freedom, USCIRF.

Moore said, “We (United States of America) are a Christian nation founded on Christian principles. We have a unique duty to defend Christians wherever they are being persecuted.

“I think it’s a salvation for us and our opportunity to step up and actually do something about these issues of Christian persecution across the world.

“And this is why I’ve been asking the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. I’d sent him a letter in October urging him and the administration to redesignate. And I want to put an emphasis on that. Redesignate Nigeria, a Country of Particular Concern.

“In Trump’s first term, they were designated. In Biden’s term there, it was taken off. And so that redesignation of Nigeria happened on October 31. And I think as many of us saw, he put out his Truth Social post about that. And many of us were elated to see that.

“And then some of us had to start getting to work. Myself specifically, since the president named me specifically to go and do a congressional investigation on this, along with my chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Tom Cole.”
