Antony, previously underwhelming at Man United, shares insights into his remarkable performance while playing at Betis.

Antony stated that the brighter weather in Spain has revealed his authentic self following his difficult experience at Manchester United. The Brazilian completed a loan transfer to Real Betis in January after a rough period at Old Trafford. In only ten games, he has achieved four goals and provided four assists, although he has only scored once for the Red Devils this season. The only downside to Antony’s performance was receiving a red card late in the match against Getafe, resulting in a suspension for the game against Real Madrid. However, that dismissal was later overturned, and Betis ended up defeating the Spanish giants. To clarify the significant improvement in his situation since arriving in Seville, Antony attributes it to the warmer climate and the pleasantness of the city. In an interview on Spanish television (as reported by Mirror), he stated: “The city has contributed significantly, which is preferable [to Manchester] and positive here… I am very pleased to be here.” The sunlight in this place is very beneficial. “Every day at noon, you’re awake and attentive to your thoughts. I fall asleep with a smile, and that means the world to me.” Additionally, check out: 2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Omeruo states that the Super Eagles will treat the match against Rwanda as if it’s a Cup Final. Antony seems to have chosen to extend his time with his current club. Earlier in the season, Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon mentioned that the Brazilian was taken aback by the club’s setup and would be open to prolonging his loan period. “Antony was amazed by the accommodations we provided to help him adjust to the city right after his arrival,” Alarcon stated in an interview with El Pelotazo.
