
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has elected new state executives in Sokoto State following the conduct of its state congress.
The congress, chaired by Professor Muztaz Aliyu Abubakar, produced Alhaji Haruna Sarkin Gobir Adiyya as State Chairman through a consensus arrangement.
Alhaji Yahaya Buhari emerged as Deputy Chairman, while Barrister Bello Abdullahi was elected State Secretary.
Other officials elected include Alhaji Abubakar S. Fada as Assistant Secretary and Alhaji Muhammad Umar as Public Relations Officer, alongside members of the State Executive Committee.
Speaking at the event, outgoing State Chairman, Hon. Isah Sadeeq Achida, thanked party members for their support during his tenure and urged the new executives to strengthen the party’s structures across the state.
In his acceptance remarks, Adiyya described his emergence as a collective decision of party stakeholders and pledged to promote inclusiveness and internal cohesion within the state chapter.
The congress concluded without reports of disruption, as the party completed the process of constituting its state leadership in Sokoto.
