
The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Rauf Aregbesola has urged all elected officials and stakeholders to remain committed to strengthening the ADC both in the South-West and nationwide.
Aregbesola also emphasised the importance of continuous engagement with the national Leadership to ensure proper harmonisation, validation, and accuracy of party officers in all states.
The Osun former governor made this known at an ADC stakeholders’ meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He highlighted the organisational stability and growing influence across Nigeria’s South-West region.
“Unity, discipline, and effective coordination are crucial for building a formidable party capable of offering Nigerians a credible and people-oriented alternative,” he said.
He added that the ADC remains resolute in its mission to deepen democratic values, strengthen internal party structures, and position itself as a viable force for national development.
The meeting featured comprehensive reports from state leaders across the South-West, highlighting the party’s structure, grassroots penetration, and readiness.
The briefing opened with the Ekiti State ADC Chairman, Ilesanmi Omolayo, and concluded with the Lagos State ADC Chairman, Ashiru George, who provided confidence-boosting accounts of their respective states’ party activities.
During the session, the names of South-West officers serving at the national level were formally read and acknowledged, recognising their contributions to the party’s growth.
National officers from the region include Akinbolawale Omole as National Vice Chairman, Captain Tunji Shelle as National Director of Communication and Programmes, and Professor Bode Ayorinde as Diversity and Inclusion Secretary.
Other officers include Fabiyi Oladimeji, Deputy National Financial Secretary; Alhaja Khafilat Omolabake Olayiwola, Deputy National Women Leader; Olufemi Adeleye, Deputy Coordinator, Diaspora; and Mrs. Yidiat Omolara Oseni, Assistant National Organising Secretary.
Chairman of the Directorate of Media and Publicity, Osun ADC, Abosede Busayo Oluwaseun, signed the statement, confirming the party’s commitment to unity and strengthened structures across the zone.
Stakeholders at the meeting renewed pledges to maintain discipline and effective coordination, aimed at positioning the ADC as a credible alternative for Nigerians in upcoming elections.
