Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected kidnapping kingpin during an operation in Adamawa State.
The arrest was revealed in a post shared on X on Saturday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the operation was carried out by troops of the 23 Brigade Garrison on April 2 in Mansur Village, Toungo Local Government Area, following credible intelligence.
The source said the intelligence came from the 23 Military Intelligence Regiment, which led to a cordon and search operation in the area.
The troops also worked alongside members of the hunters’ association during the exercise in the Tambaya-Toungo axis.
During the operation, the suspect was arrested and taken into custody for investigation.
Preliminary findings reportedly linked him to a criminal group involved in kidnapping activities and a recent attack on a military location in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, which allegedly resulted in casualties and loss of equipment.
Security sources said the suspect is currently being interrogated to uncover further details about the group’s activities and network.
Military operations are said to be ongoing in the area as troops continue efforts to dismantle criminal groups and prevent further attacks on communities and security formations.
