A family in Enfield, New York, is complaining about the numerous cancellations of school buses in the area. In Halifax, Candy Taylor, a health-care employee, reported that she had to leave her job earlier on several occasions because she had driven more than 300 kilometers this year to pick up her son when his bus was canceled. People have to choose between attending school themselves and getting their child to college because they have to leave shortly all the time, she said, noting that her brother has missed five weeks of school this time due to delays. Taylor said she’s been keeping track of the delays, noting that 56 cars have been cancelled so far this class time. The Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education, which regulates vehicle transportation in the area, claimed in a statement to Global News that the college area is experiencing a lack of bus drivers. We are making “our active efforts to solve the existing transport issues and ensure that students receive reliable and consistent vehicle solutions,” the statement read.
