The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology in Wudil, Kano State, has dismissed 34 students and imposed a one-year suspension on 13 others due to cheating during examinations. This action was taken after the university senate’s 123rd meeting, where they approved the findings from the Examinations Regulations and Irregularities Committee, which met on October 9, 2025. Abdullahi Datti, the university’s Head of Information, Publications, and Public Relations Unit, announced this in a statement released on Friday, noting that the disciplinary actions were based on a thorough review of the committee’s report regarding examination malpractice. The Senate sanctioned the removal of 34 students and the suspension of 13 others for one academic year, and multiple students were issued warning letters. Datti emphasized that the university is dedicated to preserving academic integrity and enforcing discipline among its students. He stated, “The administration aims to remind all students that cheating during exams and any type of academic dishonesty will not be accepted.”
