In a new growth, Eugene Arhin, the Communications Director at Jubilee House, has strongly denied reports claiming that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo granted presidential pardons to certain people, including Ato Essien. The publication of a letter reportedly signed by Kow Essuman, President’s legal counsel, which suggested the clemency had been granted, contributed to these studies.
Eugene Arhin clarified that no such clemency had been issued by the President in an official statement released on January 5, 2025. He urged the general public to ignore the circulating information and called them false. ” The Office of the President has been drawn to accounts that have been published in some media outlets suggesting that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of the Republic, has granted a political pardon to some people. We wish to absolutely state that these claims are false, and no forgive has been granted by President Akufo-Addo”, the speech read.
In response to the growing public’s concern and rumors about possible clemency, this clarity is made.
