Police in Anambra State have found the vehicle belonging to Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly who was kidnapped. Azuka, who represents Onitsha North State Constituency 1, was abducted by unidentified gunmen on Christmas Eve while heading to his village for the holiday. Anambra State Police Command spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, reported that there is a rigorous ongoing operation aimed at rescuing him since his abduction. He stated, “The vehicle recovery came as a result of an intensive operation by Police Operatives from the Inland Town Division. A different rescue team discovered the abandoned vehicle on Upper Iweka Road, and the Commissioner of Police has instructed the rescue team to enhance their efforts for the potential rescue of the Honourable member.” Azuka was kidnapped around 9pm on Tuesday while heading to his community to celebrate Christmas in the Ugwunabamkpa area of Onitsha. At the time of this report, it remains unknown whether his captors have contacted the family to demand ransom.
