Autorout Mbour Thiadiaye: A week of free traffic for fluidifier le Trafic

In the framework of the extension project of the Mbour-Fatick-Kaolack motorway, the Senegalese authorities announce the provisional and free opening to traffic of the Mbour-Thiadiaye motorway section. This measure, which is part of the country’s road infrastructure modernization programme, will be in force from Wednesday 4 June 2025 at 9 a.m. until Tuesday 10 June at 11 p.m. The communiqué signed by the préfet du département de Mbour specifies that this gratuite ouverture aims to improve the travel conditions of users in terms of safety, comfort and time savings. This section, 22 kilometres long, extends the AIBD motorway to Mbour and marks a significant advance in the opening up of certain localities in the centre-west of the country. L’autoroute Mbour Thiadiaye will allow to bypass the often congested areas of the route nationale n°1, notably between the interchange of Keur Balla Lô et Mbour. The authorities thus hope for a marked improvement in the flow of traffic on this strategic axis, especially in a period of strong affluence. To use this new infrastructure, users coming from Thiadiaye will have to pass through the Thiadiaye-Nguéniène road before joining the access bridge to the autoroute. A free identification ticket will be handed over at the toll barrier of Thiadiaye and must be presented at the exit, at the toll station of Mbour. The prefect of the department of Mbour, in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure, AGEROUTE Sénégal and ADS, invites motorists to exercise caution on this new section.
