Babacar Touré denounces a chaotic management of public finances and confirms the warnings of Sonko

In a point on the report of the Court of Auditors, Babacar Touré sounded the alarm bell on the worrying management of public finances in Senegal. The report also stresses that the Court of Auditors’ report highlights the massive misappropriation of public funds, the mismanagement of budgetary resources and the lack of transparency in the award of public contracts. It also points to the weakness of the control and accountability mechanisms, which, according to it, favour impunity and the illicit enrichment of a political and economic elite at the expense of citizens. It also urges civil society and the institutions of control to intensify pressure on the government to demand structural reforms guaranteeing a more transparent and effective management of public finances.
