Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments regarding the 2024 Ballon d’Or. Ronaldo claimed that Vinicius should have been the recipient of the award. Speaking at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner expressed that it was unjust for the Brazilian player not to have received the esteemed honor. Vinicius finished in second place behind Manchester City midfielder Rodri, who was awarded the 2024 Ballon d’Or in France a few months prior. In response to Ronaldo’s views on the award, Vinicius remarked at the Globe Soccer Awards: “Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments about the Ballon d’Or?” If Cristiano claims I’m the best, then I am! In the meantime, Vinicius was awarded the FIFA Best Player of the Year title.
