Barcelona have reached an agreement with Manchester United to sign England forward Marcus Rashford on an initial loan deal, with the option to make the move permanent, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

The 26-year-old is expected to travel to Catalonia within hours to complete his medical before joining the La Liga champions for their pre-season tour of Asia.

Barring any late complications, Rashford will be integrated into Hansi Flick’s squad ahead of the new campaign.

Barcelona had previously attempted to sign Rashford on loan in January but failed to secure a deal.

He re-emerged as a priority this summer after the club shifted focus from Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, whose transfer was deemed unfeasible.

The loan agreement includes an undisclosed buy clause, which would allow Barcelona to make the transfer permanent.

Rashford is seen by the club’s hierarchy as a versatile attacking option who suits the team’s tactical setup and style of play under Flick.

The deal marks Barcelona’s third signing of the summer window, and efforts are already underway to ensure Rashford’s registration with La Liga ahead of the 2025/26 season.
