The Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, attended this Monday the opening of the Conference of Public Administrators and Managers at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre (CICAD) in Diamniadio. He made it clear that the findings were alarming after nine months in office. According to him, his government faces a constrained state, with virtually no budgetary and financial room for manoeuvre. “A republican administration, admittedly, but lacking coherence and fixed in outdated schemes, even as our socioeconomic realities are rapidly evolving, notably marked by digital transformation and the rise of artificial intelligence”, he said. He therefore considers it “imperative to reorganise our administration to make it more modern, closer to the citizen and more effective in its missions”.
