Benue State Governor Alia uncovers the individuals responsible for the assaults on local communities.

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has accused certain current National Assembly politicians of orchestrating attacks within the state. He made these claims during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ on Friday, expressing that such actions are intolerable. While he did not specify the individuals involved, Alia mentioned that a preliminary report from a judicial panel he established implicated many prominent figures. He asserted his intention to address the situation following the receipt of the complete report next week. “It is deeply troubling because influential politicians who are active in the National Assembly and based in Abuja are not only instigating these attacks but also providing support and resources to those involved, including supplying weapons and taking care of their needs in hiding. This is absolutely unacceptable.” If they don’t care about the well-being of the people and are solely focused on their own power, I believe I am advocating for the interests of the general public, which matters to me, and I have the right to defend it. “We established a judicial panel to investigate the reasons behind the ongoing attacks both internally and externally, and we have received a preliminary report. “I will receive a complete report from the panel between Tuesday and Wednesday next week,” he stated. It is worth noting that many individuals were reported to be dead, and several others injured after suspected armed herdsmen attacked the Makurdi–Naka road on Friday. The Makurdi–Naka road has reportedly been dominated by armed Fulani militia groups for weeks, despite ongoing promises of military intervention.
