Bishop Kukah meets Nnamdi Kanu in Sokoto prisonĀ 

Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Dr Matthew Kukah on Thursday, met with the leader of the Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the Sokoto correctional center.

Kanu’s younger brother Prince Emmanuel Kanu disclosed the meeting in a post on his official Facebook page.

Prince Emmanuel said the discussion between the duo was filled with ā€œlaughter and extreme joyā€, stating that the clergy offered prayed for the IPOB leader.

ā€œTheir conversations were mostly filled with laughter and extreme joy. He prayed alongside his team of faithfulsā€, Prince Emmanuel said.

The Federal High Court in Abuja on November 20, sentenced Kanu to life imprisonment after being convicted on all seven counts of terrorism filed against him by the Federal Government.

He was subsequently sent to faraway Sokoto prison despite opposition from activists and lawyers.
