Bishop Twala shares life lessons in debut book

Bishop Thokozani E Twala recently published his first book, The Art of Starting Early.

“This is a dream come true for me. Not as an achievement but as a contribution to the kingdom of God,” said Twala.

He believes writing a book is a way to preserve knowledge and ensure it reaches a desired audience.
He started compiling the book in 2024.

“At the beginning of 2025, I resolved to complete every project I had in the pipeline, and this book was one of those projects,” he explained.

He admits he is no expert at writing, so he reached out for help to make the book what it is.

“The Art of Starting Early, despite not being a biography, talks about lessons I learnt that I can impart to others.

“I was approached by many young ministers and some peers to show them how to walk this walk. Everyone is inspired by someone,” he said.

Twala said the book shares his secrets to success.

“If you conceive an idea in your mind or a vision in your spirit, immediately start implementing it because there is a grace for starting.

“For every vision, there is a provision. When you do something in God’s time, it is lighter on you,” added Twala.

He said the book is for those wanting to pursue any goal in their life.

“There is a trend, in this day and age, when people start doing the meaningful things later in life. It could include marriage and having children, or business or ministry. However, you must also consider the physical limitations that come with ageing.

“The younger you are, the more zealous and energetic you are,” he explains.

Twala admits that writing about finding balance was the most challenging chapter.

“Many ministers will sacrifice the progress of their families for their churches, and it should not be so. If God makes you a husband, a father and a pastor, then you must make all of your roles work efficiently,” he explained.
