(BPRW) Terence Blanchard is set to return to The Soraya for the concert debut of his two operas. Highlights from two operas composed by jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard, titled CHAMPION and FIRE SHUT UP IN MY BONES. Fire Shut Up in My Bones made a significant impact globally, and in 2023, he achieved it yet again with another innovative success, Champion. In partnership with Los Angeles Opera, The Soraya commissioned the world premiere of excerpts from both operas, featuring performances by Blanchard himself. The American trumpet player and film composer heads his E-Collective and the Turtle Island Quartet, featuring baritone Justin Austin and soprano Adrienne Danrich. For over ten years, The Soraya has served as a venue for performing artists in Los Angeles. They shine consistently over the seasons, showcasing unique creations, engaging in new partnerships for the first time, and achieving greater success. The Soraya actively monitors emerging local talent while also promoting the ongoing efforts of the region’s beloved artists.
