(BPRW) THE WOMAN IN THE YARD – Releasing in theaters on March 28. Everything familiar will be turned upside down. (Black PR Wire) A ghostly woman, completely dressed in black, shows up unexpectedly on a family’s front yard and ominously tells them, “today’s the day.” What is her origin? What are her desires? When is she going to depart? In “Only The Woman in the Yard,” a new original thriller from Blumhouse, renowned for its successful horror brand, Danielle Deadwyler (known for her roles in “Till,” “The Harder They Fall,” and “The Piano Lesson”) stars as Ramona. She is a woman overwhelmed by sorrow after surviving a car crash that claims her husband (played by Russell Hornsby from “BMF” and “Fences”). Now, severely injured, Ramona is left to raise their teenage son (Peyton Jackson from “Respect” and “American Refugee”) and young daughter (Estella Kahiha from “Will Trent” and “BMF”) on her own in a rural farmhouse. One day, a mysterious woman appears in their yard. Initially, Ramona believes the woman (Okwui Okpokwasili from “The Exorcist: Believer” and Julie Taymor’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”) is either lost or mentally unstable. However, as the woman approaches the house, it becomes evident that she is far from ordinary and poses a sinister threat. Ramona is now compelled to defend herself and her children from a persistent woman who refuses to let them be. The Woman in the Yard is helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra, known for works like Black Adam and Jungle Cruise, and who recently directed Deadwyler in the forthcoming action thriller Carry On. The screenplay marks the debut of first-time feature writer Sam Stefanak. The film is produced by Jason Blum, known for The Invisible Man and The Black Phone, alongside renowned Emmy-nominated producer Stephanie Allain, p.g.a. The film is titled ‘The Exorcist: Believer’ and is categorized as a horror thriller. It features Danielle Deadwyler as a leading star, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Jaume Collet-Serra, James Moran, and Gabrielle Ebron.
