Two classrooms in Brevard County have been awarded esteemed STEM Classroom Makeover Grants. (Black PR Wire) Melbourne, Florida. Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has announced a significant expansion of its Classroom Makeover Grant program, providing hundreds of local students with new chances to delve into science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). In Brevard County, two schools are set to receive a grant of $201,000 each aimed at transforming their classrooms into innovative learning environments to inspire student interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). To commemorate its 100th anniversary, Florida Power & Light Company is significantly increasing the scope of its program this year, expanding from five to 20 STEM Classroom Makeover Grants throughout the state, totaling $1 million to support Florida students. “We deeply appreciate Florida Power & Light Company for their generous assistance.” “Dr. Mark Rendell, the Superintendent, stated that these grants will upgrade the classrooms at Port Malabar and Coquina Elementary Schools into cutting-edge educational environments, offering our students exceptional chances to engage with and succeed in STEM disciplines.” This program demonstrates how community collaborations can improve educational opportunities and equip our students for their future professions.
