​Burna Boy takes the stage at the Women’s Euro 2025 Trophy event in England.    

 

Sarina Wiegman, the head coach of the England women’s national team, joined Nigerian music icon Burna Boy on stage for a dance as the Lionesses celebrated their victory in Euro 2025 in London, according to shekicks. On Tuesday afternoon, a trophy parade took place in the capital following England’s successful defense of their Women’s Euros title in Basel on Sunday. They secured victory against Spain, the 2023 FIFA World Cup champions, through a penalty shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 draw after regular and extra time. The players have been celebrating for the past two days, returning to the UK via Southend Airport on Monday. That day, they also visited 10 Downing Street before continuing their celebrations in Soho into the early morning. Thousands of fans welcomed the Lionesses in London, with an open-top bus parade along The Mall leading to a stage event outside Buckingham Palace. During the celebration, coach Wiegman received a surprise performance from her favorite artist, Burna Boy. The Dutch coach has previously stated that the Nigerian artist is her favorite musician. She appeared surprised when presenter Alex Scott introduced the Grammy winner at the event held outside Buckingham Palace. Wiegman hurried over to hug Burna Boy, and they danced together on stage while he performed his song ‘For My Hand.’ In 2023, the England manager first mentioned her admiration for Burna Boy. Later that year, during a press conference, she shared that her most-played track was one featuring Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran. In Nigeria, after winning their 10th WAFCON title in Morocco, the Super Falcons received a grand welcome party. Upon their return to the country on Monday, President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu hosted the team in Abuja.
