The trophy was officially revealed at an event held in Casablanca, Morocco, by CAF in collaboration with long-term partner TotalEnergies. Made of radiant silver and matte gold, the trophy’s body is encircled by a gold band etched with the CAF logo, showcasing the organization’s unwavering dedication to promoting women’s football among its 54 member nations. The base, crafted from pristine white marble with sophisticated gold stripes, is inscribed with the competition’s name in elegant matte gold letters, solidifying the legacy of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in the rich history of African sports. Super Falcons Aim for Their 10th WAFCON Championship. Following their fourth-place finish in the 2022 tournament, the Super Falcons aim to earn their 10th title at this year’s WAFCON in Morocco. With nine championships to their name, they are the most successful team in the women’s Cup of Nations. The Falcons, led by the late Ismaila Mabo, claimed their first title in 1998 as hosts by defeating Ghana 2-0 in the final. Other nations that have won the WAFCON include Equatorial Guinea and South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, with Equatorial Guinea winning in 2008 and 2012, and South Africa taking the title in 2022. This year’s tournament is scheduled from July 5 to July 26, and the Super Falcons are placed in Group B alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana.
