According to the magazine “Jeune Afrique”, the outgoing candidate Paul Biya would have won the presidential election with 53,66% of the vote, ahead of his opponent Issa Tchiroma Bakary. But he disputes these results, putting forward a count that would place him at the head of the ballot with about 60% of the vote. This verdict is rendered by the National Commission for the Census of Votes of Cameroon, eight days after the presidential election. According to information from Jeune Afrique, following three days of compilation work, the candidate of the ruling Rassemblement démocratique du peuple camerounais (RDPC), Paul Biya, was declared the winner with 53.66% of the votes, or 2 474 179 votes.
