’Billionaire Status Can’t Be Achieve Through Entertainment Or Sports Alone’ – Anthony Joshua

British professional boxer Anthony Joshua recently shared his thoughts on achieving billionaire status, claiming it cannot be done solely through entertainment or sports. Speaking via Snapchat over the weekend, Joshua advised entertainers and athletes not to be distracted by fame but to focus on the business side of their careers.

He wrote, “To reach billionaire status, it will not be through sports, music, or entertainment. Don’t get lost in the hype, focus on sustainability, financial literacy, and business ethics.”

While there are a few billionaire entertainers and athletes globally, many of them have built their wealth through lucrative endorsements and business ventures. Forbes lists some of the world’s billionaire entertainers and sports figures, including Jay-Z, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James.

  • ‘ I’m Underpaid And Still Struggling Financially Despite 2 Oscar Nominations’ – Hollywood Actor Djimon Hounsou

Beninese-American actor Djimon Hounsou, celebrated for his powerful performances in films like Gladiator, Blood Diamond, and Amistad, is opening up about the challenges he continues to face as a Black actor in Hollywood. Despite a career spanning more than two decades and earning two Oscar nominations, the 60-year-old actor revealed he is underpaid and still struggling financially.

In an interview on CNN’s American Voices Changemakers, Hounsou spoke candidly about his experiences in the film industry. “I’ve been in the business for over two decades, with two Oscar nominations and numerous films, yet I’m still struggling financially. I am absolutely underpaid,” he said.

Hounsou also reflected on a particularly painful moment early in his career. He recalled being overlooked for an Oscar nomination for his breakout role as Cinqué in Steven Spielberg’s 1997 historical drama Amistad. Despite receiving a Golden Globe nomination for the same performance, he felt dismissed by the Academy.

“They ignored me for the Oscars because they thought I had just come off the ship and the streets,” Hounsou shared. “Even though I earned the Golden Globe nomination, they didn’t view me as an actor worthy of their respect.”

His story sheds light on the systemic biases and lack of diversity in the entertainment industry. Hounsou’s experiences highlight the ongoing struggle faced by many actors of color to receive fair pay and recognition, despite their undeniable talent and achievements.

  • Sam Moore, who sang’ Soul Man’, dies at 89

Sam Moore, who sang’ Soul Man’, dies at 89

Sam Moore, the surviving third and higher tone of the 1960s combo Sam &amp, Dave that was known for quite clear hits of the era as Self Man and ‘ Keep On, I’m Comin,’ has died. He was 89. Writer Jeremy Westby said Moore died Friday night in Coral Gables, Florida, due to problems while recovering from surgery. No further details were immediately accessible. Moore and Dave Prater were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, and among his friends included Al Green and Bruce Springsteen. At the Memphis, Tennessee-based Stax Records, Moore and Prater ranked just behind Otis Redding as the band’s biggest actors. They recorded some of the most enduring hits from soul music, including You Don’t Know Like I Know, When Something is Wrong With My Baby, and I Thank You, and transformed the” contact and response” of church music into a violent stage show. The majority of their visits were written and produced by Isaac Hayes and David Porter, and they included the Stax home circle Booker T. &amp, the MGs, whose guitar Steve Cropper received one of the most renowned yellouts when Sam &amp, Dave called Play it, Steve halfway through Soul Man. Like some ‘ 60s heart acts, Sam &amp, Dave faded after the 1960s. Soul Guy was recorded with many of the same musicians in the late 1970s and once charted in the late 1970s. Moore recalls how young people believed the strike had its roots in the Blues Brothers and how it came to be associated with the Saturday Night Live actors. In 2008, the film Soul Men depicted a pair of aging, estranged artists who bore more than a small resemblance to Sam &amp, Dave. Moore filed a petition because it resembled something very closely. He even sued Prater for decades after the company hired a replacement and performed as the New Sam &amp, Dave. Prater died in a 1988 automobile accident in Georgia. In 1993, Moore was one of the many musicians who filed legal defenses alleging that the record business had cheated them into receiving retirement benefits. Moore and another musicians brought legal action against various history companies and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Moore told The Associated Press in 1994 that he joined the legal effort after learning, despite his million-selling records, his pension amounted to just$ 2, 285, which he could take as a lump sum or in payments of$ 73 monthly. ” Two thousand cash for my life”? Moore said finally. ” If you’re making a profit off of me, give me some too. Don’t give me bread and tell me it’s biscuits “.Moore even became involved in politics. For Republican Bob Dole’s national campaign in 1996, he wrote the song Dole Man, which is a take on Soul Man. In 2017, he was among the several entertainers who performed for Republican President Donald Trump’s annual holidays. Eight decades earlier, Moore had objected when Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s battle used Keep On, I’m Comin’. Moore was born Oct. 12, 1935, in Miami and got his start singing in religion. He and Prater performed in spirit and R&amp, B venues in the 1950s, but didn’t meet until 1961 in Miami. Moore helped Prater learn the lyrics to a tune, and the pair rapidly gained notoriety in their own neighborhood. In 1965, after signing with Atlantic Records, manufacturer Jerry Wexler sent them to the brand’s Stax company in Memphis. Trending Then

The singer’s troubles were brought on by a drug habit he kicked in 1981, which he frequently argued with and which eventually made amusement executives reluctant to agree to give him a break. In 2006, Moore revealed to the AP that this was because of a drug habit he had with him. The trio broke up in 1970 and neither had another big strike, though Moore did function often with Springsteen, whom Moore would visit one of his closest friends. They sang on each other’s albums, including the large power duet Real World, and they both performed on stage together. ” Pull Sam Moore”, Springsteen sideman Steve Van Zandt posted on X. One of the final excellent Soul Men, For me and Johnny to begin Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Jim and Dave Prater served as inspiration. He married his wife, Joyce, in 1982, and she assisted him in getting treatment for his habit, which he credited with saving his career. ” I did a lot of cruise ships, I did a lot of vintage shows”, during those battles, he said, adding that he once opened for a group of Elvis impersonators. ” That’s funny to think back to it now. And I did a lot of exhibits where if I did a show with an oldie present, I had to basically audition”, he said. ” But you know what? You keep your mouth shut and go up it and sing as loudly and as often as you can, and you get the much money and continue to work on your business and make the necessary payments. I’m laughing about it now, but at that moment, man, it was really significant “.Moore kept recording and singing. He frequently performed at the Kennedy Center Honors and sang for Obama among different president. Moore is survived by his family, Joyce, child, Michell, and two children. Curator Recommendations
