On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the Thiantacounes celebrated, as usual and with the fervor that characterizes them, the spiritual meeting between their guide Cheikh Béthio Thioune and his maître, Serigne Saliou Mbacké. This major event in the religious calendar has once again been marked by an exceptional mobilization of the faithful, illustrating the vitality and commitment of a community united around the teachings of their spiritual guide. At the heart of this celebration, the traditional “Tchant”, symbol of communion and generosity, was distinguished by the abundance and quality of the meals, the famous Berndé offered graciously to the participants. This gesture, signature of the confrérie, embodies the spirit of sharing and solidarity inscribed in the DNA of the Thiantacounes. This edition 2025 has nevertheless a particular dimension. It marks the recognition of a long-term work led by Sokhna Aïda Saliou Thioune, an emblematic figure of the movement. Under his impulse, the creation of a Regional Development Committee (CRD) dedicated to the organization of the event testifies to the growing involvement of the administrative and religious authorities, guaranteeing the institutional recognition of an event hitherto sometimes marginalized. The presence of delegations from several religious families also reinforced the spiritual legitimacy of this event, underlining the diversity and openness of the movement. The constant commitment of the Thiantacounes in favour of the most deprived, be they the homeless, prisoners or marginalised populations across borders.
Célébration du 17 avril: A historic tournament for the Thiantacounes (Par Magued Wade) was held in the city of Paris, France.
