CFR Cluj’s manager has stated that Omeruo is still dealing with a knee injury.

Dan Petrescu, the manager of CFR Cluj, has voiced worries regarding Kenneth Omeruo’s knee injury that has kept him from participating in training with the team. The Nigerian defender, who has not played a match since joining this summer, sat on the bench during Cluj’s scoreless draw against Paksi FC from Hungary in the Europa League qualifying round. In a conversation with the club’s website, Petrescu mentioned that the medical staff are tirelessly working to ensure Omeruo is ready in time. Omeruo is unprepared. “I’m not sure if you’re aware, but he’s facing a significant issue with his knee,” Petrescu remarked. “We are working on addressing the problem and helping him recover.” As long as he practices regularly with the team, he will have an opportunity to participate in games. He is unable to practice with the team until that time. Omeruo signed with the eight-time champions of the Romanian League after leaving Turkish team Kasimpasa, where his contract was ended in February, and did so without any transfer fee.
