The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has declared a rise in prize money for the 2024 African Championship, CHAN. The winner of this edition, set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, will earn $3.5 million. This marks a 75% increase compared to the amount awarded to Senegal two years ago in Algeria. CAF also revealed that the total prize pool for the tournament has been raised to $10.4 million, an increase of 32%. Seventeen countries have already secured their place in the biennial event. The draw ceremony for CHAN 2024 will take place at the International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, on Wednesday, January 15. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Saturday, February 1, 2025, with the final occurring on Friday, February 28, 2025.
