CHAN 2024: Senegal Faces Injury Setback Before Match Against Home Eagles

Defending champions Senegal will miss their main goalkeeper, Idris Ndiaye, for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), according to Completesports. Ndiaye is unavailable for the tournament due to an injury he suffered while playing in Génération Foot’s 1-0 win against Jaraaf in the Senegal Cup final. In his place, Senegal’s head coach Souleymane Diallo has selected Cheikh Lô Ndoye from Jaraaf Dakar. Additionally, CAF has recognized a former Super Eagles winger as one of the top players in CHAN history. Ndoye is anticipated to reunite with the team in Zanzibar next Monday. The squad also includes goalkeepers Marco Diouf (Teungueth FC) and Samba Mballo (US Gorée). Senegal will kick off their CHAN 2024 finals campaign against Nigeria next Tuesday. The match in Group D is set to take place at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, alongside Sudan and Congo Brazzaville, who are also in the group. Reported by Adeboye Amosu.
