In a publication shared on social networks, the Director General of the Autonomous Port of Dakar (PAD), Waly Diouf Bodiang, reacted strongly to the proposals of Me El Hadji Oumar Youm, former Minister of the Armed Forces under the regime of Macky Sall. Waly Diouf Bodiang accuses the former minister of voluntary oblivion and selective posture. According to him, Me Youm has never taken a position nor denounced the mass arrests that marked the last years of Macky Sall’s power, a period during which he was still in office. “Maître Youm has forgotten that he was Minister of the Armed Forces while Macky raflait en masse les Sénégalais. We have never heard of a broncher in its time”, writes Waly Bodiang.. Le responsable du PAD also criticizes what he considers as an opportunist indignation on the part of Me Youm, whom he calls “defender without illusion of a derived opponent”. He is surprised to see the former minister summoning Dieu to support his arguments, while he would have remained silent in the face of numerous dérives under the old regime. “His indignation and his capacity for analysis were in hibernation. Today, he is calling on the good Lord to support his position”, he quips. In concluding his publication, Waly Diouf Bodiang calls Me Youm to assume the “retour de bâton”, which he considers as a just effect of the political alternation.
