Chelsea’s defender Levi Colwill admits that he hasn’t yet reached his desired level of performance. The 22-year-old, who developed his skills in Chelsea’s youth system, grew up hearing tales of legendary players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, and Didier Drogba winning championships. He is considered one of the leaders at Stamford Bridge by both manager Enzo Maresca and his teammates. Although he has been a consistent starter, Colwill expressed in an interview with TribalFootball that he faced challenges during the 2024-25 season. “I am far from where I aspire to be,” he stated. One-on-one defending has been challenging, but I believe I’ve shown improvement. We all recognize the significance of this club and its longstanding winning culture.” We are simply emphasizing to the young boys and newcomers that this club is exclusively for those who aspire to win. That is our goal to work towards. Colwill disclosed that he has faced challenges while representing England, but has taken the advice of a team staff member to read James Clear’s book Atomic Habits, which has aided him in adjusting to various settings. “Naturally, this is going to be a significant season for me,” he stated. “Chelsea has returned to the Champions League, and we aim to improve our performance in the Premier League compared to this season. With the World Cup approaching at the end of the season, qualifying for it is a major goal for us.”
