The Tribunal correctionnel de Dakar delivered its judgment on 12 November 2025 in the case of the chronicler Abdou Nguer and his co-accused Pape Amadou Ndiaye Diaw. In his deliberation, the judge relaxed both the offences of diffusion of false news and apology of the crime. On the other hand, the judge declared Abdou Nguer guilty of offense to the head of state before sentencing him to 6 mois dont 3 mois ferme avec une amende de 200 mille de FCFA. It’s a pity he’s already purged. He will be released. According to one of his lawyers, Me Alioune Badara, this decision is a disappointment.
