Danmaliki issued certificate of return as LG chairman following Kano court ruling 

Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) has officially issued a Certificate of Return to Ali Musa Danmaliki (Hard Worker), confirming him as the elected chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Council following a Kano State High Court ruling in his favour.

This was stated in a release signed by Usman Gwadabe, Director of Public Enlightenment, Media and Publicity Directorate, Government House, Kano.

The presentation was held at the Government House, Kano, on Tuesday, with the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Ismail Jibril Falgore, in attendance.

KANSIEC Chairman, Prof. Sani Lawal Malumfashi, said the commission acted in accordance with the constitution and the court’s directive.

He stated: “We are here to act strictly on the State High Court verdict by presenting a Certificate of Return to the duly declared winner and elected Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Council, Ali Musa Danmaliki.”

The commission also retrieved the certificate previously issued to Abdullahi Ghali Shitu following the 2024 local government elections.

Kano APC Chairman, Haruna Duguwa, said the party respects the rule of law, whether or not a judgement favours them, and urged the new chairman to work with his constituents and the state government to deliver the benefits of democracy to the people.

Danmaliki thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for respecting the court order and promised loyalty to the administration.

He also pledged to support the governor’s re-election in the 2027 general elections.
