​Décès de Cheikh Ngom : Abdoulaye Baldé pays homage to a man of exception, a builder whose life and work will remain forever engraved in the architectural history of Senegal 

  The former mayor of Ziguinchor, Abdoulaye Baldé, has paid a vibrant tribute to the Senegalese premier to create a cabinet of architects in Senegal, Cheikh Ngom, who died today at the age of 90. “Today, it is all a part of our national memory and an icon of our family that dies. His heritage, lui, demeure vivant dans chaque bâtiment that he has conceived, dans chaque élève that he has inspired, dans chaque rêve d’architecte africain that he has made possible”. According to him, Cheikh Ngom’s career illustrates the sense of public service and the love of Senegal. His remarkable career has earned him the rank of Officer of the National Order of the Lion, a well-deserved recognition of a milestone career of work, audacity and contribution to the image of Senegal, added Abdoulaye Balde, before presenting his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, his relatives and the entire Ziguinchor community.
