The decomposed body of a Qur’anic (Islamiyya) teacher, Mallam Awwal Yakubu, who had been missing for days, has been found in an uncompleted building at Talba Housing Estate in Minna, Niger State.

The father of seven was last seen on Thursday before his remains were discovered on Sunday morning.

According to information gathered, the body was found with burns on his private parts, and a pack of matches lying close by.

A community leader, Mallam Mahmud Dalhatu Iya, said the family confirmed that the body was theirs and had already buried him.

He explained, “We were informed about a decomposed body in an uncompleted building within our estate. We alerted the police. While we were there, someone who knew him came forward and said he had been missing since Thursday. His body has now been prepared for burial.”
