In the context of the fight against illicit trade in pharmaceutical products and cybercrime, a joint operation was conducted by the pharmaceutical inspectors of the Agency for Pharmaceutical Regulation (ARP) and the Cybercrime Section of the National Police. This intervention, which took place from 2 to 28 March 202421 in the municipalities of Guédiawaye and Piscine, enabled the dismantling of a vast network of cybercriminals specialised in the fraudulent sale of pharmaceutical products. The investigation revealed that the offenders operated mainly via social networks (TikTok, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.), thus facilitating the promotion and distribution of non-approved pharmaceutical products. The inspection revealed several illicit activities, including: The implementation of clandestine abortions with the aid of uncontrolled pharmaceutical substances; The online sale of pills intended to simulate the artificial hymen.
