DIC: The investigators activated in the case of the unlawful attribution of parcels in Guediawaye

A new land scandal has rocked the city of Guédiawaye, with the involvement of several forgers in the illegal allocation of parcels on a land destined for the construction of the Tribunal de Guédiawaye. La Division des Investigations Criminelles (DIC) has been activated to unravel this case. The Government, meeting yesterday in the Council of Ministers, took firm measures to investigate these irregularities. The case was updated by a technical audit conducted by a Comité d’audit foncier, which revealed serious irregularities concerning the award of leases on land intended for the construction of the Tribunal de Guédiawaye. These anomalies concern the illegal allocation of parcels to unauthorized individuals. The land in question, reserved for a judicial infrastructure project, should have been protected against any attempt at private exploitation or fraudulent attribution. In view of the scale of the scandal, the Government has taken a firm decision to initiate a thorough investigation in order to shed light on these property irregularities. According to the national daily Le Soleil, an extensive system has been put in place to investigate the illegal leases and the actions of those responsible. To this end, the DIC was entrusted with the task of carrying out this investigation, the objective of which is to bring to the attention of those responsible for these acts of fraud and corruption and to recover the parcels awarded in an irregular manner.
