The “Téra-meeting” of 8 November, which took place in front of the esplanade du stade Léopold-Sédar-Senghor, marked a stage in the militant re-mobilization of Pastef. In gathering a crowd that several media have described as one of the most important of recent years, Ousmane Sonko combined a programmatic register (an appeal to “sacrifices” and a national effort) and a combative posture aimed at the opposition, a part of the judicial system, as well as some “allies” within the presidential coalition. This cadrage, nourished by an offensive tone, aimed as much at the national scene as the intra-majoritarian arena. The first reaction of the Head of State was manifested on the political-organizational terrain. Several actors have published elements recontextualizing this moment of 2024 where the candidate Faye was presented as chef de la coalition ” Diomaye Président “. These reminders, if they are intended for public opinion, are addressed above all to the militant base, in order to reinscribe the act of 11 November in a juridico-political continuity. Outside the camp of power, the opposition is seen in the episode as the confirmation of a “bicephalism tendu”. The commentators have seen a signal of vulnerability.
