The Sénégal was marked by a strong presence at the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of the Union of the Comoros on Sunday 6 July. Indeed, El Malick Ndiaye, President of the National Assembly, represented President Bassirou Diomaye Faye at this event, underlining “the excellence of the fraternal and historical ties that unite Dakar and Moroni”. In addition to the official ceremony, President El Malick Ndiaye held a series of strategic bilateral meetings, thus strengthening Senegal’s diplomatic position on the African and international scene. On 6 July, he was received by the President of the Comoros, Mr Azali Assoumani. A privileged opportunity to convey the fraternal greetings of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and to salute the exceptional quality of relations between Senegal and the Comoros. This meeting allowed the consolidation of the high-level dialogue between the two Heads of State. The President of the Assembly then continued his diplomatic agenda by holding talks with his Comorian counterpart, Mr Moustadroine Abdou, President of the Assembly of the Union of the Comores.
