This speech, faithful to the republican tradition, is of particular importance, marking the first address to the nation by the 5th President of Senegal on the occasion of the national holiday. Through this message, the Head of State will have the opportunity to recall the foundations of the country’s independence, to pay tribute to the historical figures who marked this struggle, and to reaffirm his commitment to democratic and republican values. This speech will also be a key moment for outlining the broad orientations of his mandate, notably in matters of governance, economic development, social justice and consolidation of national unity. In a context of political transition and strong expectations of the population, this address of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye will be followed with particular attention by the Senegalese and the international community.
