A Ghanaian ball rider, DJ Lord OTB, has called out reggae/dancehall actor, Stonebwoy, and his management staff for disrespecting him during his collection at the current Guinness Accravaganza present.
DJ Lord, who was one of many DJs on-call during the celebration held on Saturday, March 29, alleges that title work Stonebwoy sicced his management staff on him for daring to perform Shatta Wale tracks to keep the crowd engaged.
In a lengthy social media post, the award-winning DJ recounted the brutal experience and expressed despair at the lack of expertise from Stonebwoy’s group.
He said he was playing some Wale melodies, which the audience was loving until he was ordered to stop.
” At the insistence of Stonebwoy’s supervision, I was instructed to stop playing Shatta Wale’s songs instantly. Can you imagine? Given my history as a DJ, this is clearly rude and unprofessional. “, DJ Lord OTB wrote.
DJ Lord bemoaned the work, arguing no article work may have influence over what a DJ works. He added that Stonebwoy’s staff made another mistake when they jumped in to get over another author’s allotted period.
” This isn’t just about me feeling disrespected. There are much bigger issues around. Actor supervisors keep overstepping their boundaries, acting like they’re in charge of anything. DJs and MCs keep getting treated as irrelevant, even though we’re the ones who keep the energy going and make sure events run smoothly”, DJ Lord said. ” And worst of all, personal meat between artists is now being used to power what song gets played at events, which really makes the whole business look petty”,
He added that until all these trifling issues are solved and competence is restored, Ghana’s music business may be in the doldrums.
