Johannesburg – Victor Mthethwa Majola, the man charged with the murder of DJ Warras, is spending the holidays behind bars and will be back in court after the New Year.
The 44-year-old murder accused made a brief appearance earlier this week and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on 6 January 2026.
Popular DJ Warras, whose real name was Warrick Stock, owned Imperium Ops International, a private security firm contracted at the building, where he was reportedly effecting an eviction.
The 40-year-old DJ was gunned down in broad daylight, ironically on Reconciliation Day, 16 December 2025, outside Zambezi House in Johannesburg’s central business district.

CCTV footage shows that shortly before the shooting, he was approached by three men.
Following preliminary investigations, the police arrested Majola in a pre-dawn raid at Morafe Hostel in Soweto on December 22, alongside another suspect.
However, charges against the second individual were provisionally withdrawn.
Gauteng police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili stated that the search continues for at least one additional suspect.
DJ Warras was laid to rest on Monday, 22 December 2025.
