The Gauteng Department of Social Department has received requests to consider late applications and submissions of proposals (business plans) for funding in the 2025/26 financial year.
In a statement, the department said the deadline for submitting proposals was October 30, 2024, and NPOs that missed this deadline would not be considered.
The adverts that called for the submissions on social media and in the national press and community media were clear on the deadline.
The department thanked all the NPOs who submitted their applications.
Over 1 500 proposals were received when the applications closed.
The application assessment process for the 2025/26 funding cycle was centralised. The full inclusion of all relevant staff and panelling of the proposals is underway, and the department is gearing up to sign service-level agreements and release funds on time for a smoother start to the new financial year.
