Chilliwack, B. C., RCMP is warning people to be aware of balcony thieves operating this holiday time. On surveillance video, the suspected criminals were riding an e-scooter through a neighborhood before stealing a offer from a balcony. Similar videos that appear to show the same suspects stealing many packages have since been posted online. On December 15, two suspects were spotted taking a distribution from a house in the Sardis neighborhood, according to RCMP. A worried neighbor approached the suspects, who police claimed later returned the offer without incident. Authorities have not identified the defendants. Use back door cameras if possible, ensure that porch lights are functional, and work with your neighbors to work with the RCMP to ensure no one leaves any packages outside for an extended period of time.
