Easter: Nigeria’s resurrection is near – NNPP

The New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, has called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in hope, asserting that the nation’s current challenges are but a “dark Friday” that must inevitably give way to a “resurrection morning.”

In an Easter message signed Ladipo Johnson, the National Publicity Secretary, the party noted that this year’s celebration comes at a time of profound national difficulty.

He specifically lamented the persistent maladministration that has deepened economic hardship and the wave of insecurity that continues to claim innocent lives.

“Our hearts are heavy as we reflect on the senseless killings and attacks in Plateau State and other troubled regions across the federation,” Johnson stated.

“We remember those who have suffered, those who have been displaced, and the families who are marking this holy season with empty chairs at their tables. Their sacrifices and pain will not be in vain.”

The NNPP spokesperson, however, urged Nigerians not to let the failures of the current leadership quench their spirit. He drew a parallel between the Easter story and the Nigerian struggle, noting that the ultimate message of the season is the triumph of light over darkness.

“The stone of poor governance, economic instability, and fear currently blocking our path to greatness will be rolled away,” he said.

“The NNPP remains committed to the vision of a New Nigeria, a nation where security of life and property is a priority, and where leadership is a tool for service, not for the enrichment of a few.”

He concluded by calling on all citizens to use this period for sober reflection and to pray for the peace of the country, while remaining active participants in the democratic process to ensure a better future.

“The cross came before the crown. Though we endure the cross of bad governance today, the crown of a prosperous and secure Nigeria is within our reach if we do not lose hope.”
